Signature Packaging and Paper Named To Top 100 List

We congratulate Dennis Vinson, president and CEO of Signature Packaging and Paper, LLC and his staff on being named to Black Enterprise magazine's 2015 Top 100 list. Signature Packaging is an award-winning, corrugated packaging company that was founded in 2003. We first met Mr. Vinson back in 2006 when he and his team were searching for a facility to relocate to so they could be closer to their newest contract, Procter & Gamble. The decision to set up shop in Jackson, Missouri, meant Penzel Construction had a good shot at earning their business. Little did we know at the time that Signature's facility would need to be fully constructed and operational in less than six months time.

As a design-build contractor, we knew we could meet the challenge. So, in October of 2006, we broken ground on their new 83,900-square-foot industrial facilty and warehouse on 1302 Lenco Avenue in the Jackson (see project details here). The design-build delivery method allowed for some components to begin before the final designs were solidified, saving precious time and money. Four months later, the client was able to occupy the building and begin servicing their new client, Procter & Gamble. Despite the tough schedule, it was completed on time and to the client's specifications.

As reported in the Southeast Missourian, Vinson says about the recognition, "We're really thankful, and the future looks very bright in terms of further opportunity. Getting this honor was just beyond my expectations, so I'm very pleased with that. I think there's nothing more for us to do but continue to grow and go. And we've got the people and the infrastructure in place to allow that to happen."

Today, Signature Packaging and Paper has expanded their product line and now provides services to Rubbermaid and Nortec, in addition to Procter & Gamble.

We had the pleasure of interviewing Dennis Vinson about his experience with Penzel Construction. Here's what he had to say:
